You also need to stay hydrated while exercising to maintain proper body temperature so you must have a water bottle. Don't forget your towel because if you're getting a good work out in then you should definitely be sweating, and using a towel regulates your body temperature to stop overheating.
Music is important too because it can motivate and inspire us so a good play list can really make your workout enjoyable! Invest in some good headphones that won't fall off. Last but not least a good protein shake before or after your workout is good too. If you take it before your workout it gives you energy. A protein shake right after your workout replenishes your body's lost nutrients, and helps with muscle repair. Only do both if you plan on doing an intense workout.
If you are serious about being physically fit, increasing your energy level and feeling better about yourself then exercise is necessary. If you feel like you don't really have time to go to the gym you can always take a walk, go bike riding on the beach, go for a swim, go hiking etc. People find time to do things that they want to do and if you want to be fit you'll find time for that too.
