One sign that I saw said "All lives won't matter until black lives matter" because collectively we are ALL. We all watched in horror as we saw an unarmed, handcuffed African American man suffocated to death at the hands of a Caucasian police officer in</font></p><p style="font-family: times; font-size: 14.5px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;"><font color="#999999">broad daylight. We were exposed to the video repeatedly via social media and the news.The unity that we've seen</font></p><p style="font-family: times; font-size: 14.5px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;"><font color="#999999">afterwards has been beautiful, and the majority of the protest have been peaceful. Though, outsiders have also joined in, introducing looting, violence and negativity for their own agendas. Overall, most of us have been experiencing a rollercoaster of emotions and I'm here to tell that it's okay and it's perfectly normal. It's great to stay informed. In fact, it's important to be aware of what's going on around you. However, it is important to recognize when you are being consumed by it, as it can cause you a great deal of stress and depression which can affect other areas of your life and may lead to additional problems.</font></p><p style="font-family: times; font-size: 14.5px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;"><font color="#999999"><br /></font></p><p style="font-family: times; font-size: 14.5px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;"><font color="#999999">Here are some helpful stress relieving tips that may help you take care of your mental health during this time:</font></p><p style="font-family: times; font-size: 14.5px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;"><font color="#999999"><br /></font></p><p style="font-family: times; font-size: 14.5px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;"><font color="#999999">1.) Healthy habits and self care has always been important, but as our nation and the rest of the world is grappling with the spread of Covid19 everyone is longing for a solution, a cure, a vaccine. Many companies are working towards that, but we need to focus on what we can do to protect ourselves and our families in the mean time.<br />
The first line of defense is having a strong immune system. Covid19 is very infectious; so one of the first things that I did when I learned that was to head straight to the natural food store. I loaded up on vitamins and supplements to boost my immune system, and I also got some organic and raw produce. I know that some health food stores can have pricey products, but I found a lot of affordable options and I just bought smaller quantities of the more expensive items that I wanted.<br />
<br />
Here are some natural ways to boost your immune system:<br />

1.) <b><span style="font-size: large;">Sleep well</span> </b>(Sleep atleast 6 to 8 hours a day. Getting good rest can improve how your body fights illnesses.)<br />
<br />
2.) <b><span style="font-size: large;">Eat well</span></b> (Make sure that you're getting your fruits, vegetables and whole grains.)<br />
<br />
3.) <b><span style="font-size: large;">Exercise</span></b> (30 minutes of physical activity a day is a great start. Ex: Walking, Running, bicycling , hiking etc. The whole point is to maintain a healthy weight.)<br />
<br />
4.) <b><span style="font-size: large;">Avoid smoking</span></b> (I understand that smoking is addictive but it does weaken your immune system which makes it harder for it to fight off infections and disease.)<br />
<br />
5.) <b><span style="font-size: large;">Avoid drinking too much alcohol</span></b> For example: Drinking 8 or more drinks in a week for women and 15 or more in a week for men. Drinking in moderation is not harmful to your cells and won't break down your immune system.<br />

The one thing that I know about survival is that we all have the ability to do it. It's an instinct, something that's ingrained in us. Some people have to really reach within to do it, but for others they go into survival mode quickly. Now we are all in quarantine being put to the ultimate test. This Pandemic seems to have put a pause on the world, but it hasn't completely put a pause on our lives. This wasn't in any of our plans and it's inconvenient and negative, but have you stopped to think about how you might really come out of this? Why not take the opportunity to change your thinking and focus on the positive? Here are a few questions to ask yourself!<br />

2.) Have I been making enough time for the things in my life that matter the most?<br />

One of the best and most fulfilling things that a person can do in their life is travel. We live in a world that is so vast and beautiful, with so much out there to see. It's easy to get caught up in every day living and responsibilities such as working full time, raising kids, paying bills, being a student and or just chasing whatever dreams and goals we have. There can be so many priorities in the life of a busy person. One thing to never forget is the importance of expanding your horizons through travel so you can see and learn new things. As humans we're intrigued by adventure, and our curiosity leads us to wonder about and discover new things. It's great to take care of the home front and handle your business but challenge yourself to travel more and see more. I know that when we think of traveling we think of how expensive it can be (especially for a family) between flight tickets, baggage fees, hotel accommodations and the time that we're taking off of work. There is a lot to think about that may somewhat discourage you, but there are also some experiences that you can't put a monetary value on. Some people travel often for work or work for an airline or airport in some capacity. I started off by working as a reservation agent for an airline and was able to take free flights and that benefit was extended to my immediate family members too. I used to do crazy things like hop on a plane to go have lunch in Seattle or fly to New York to go shopping! One time me and my Co worker flew to Chicago to spend the day there! My traveling experience started that way but I just couldn't get enough time off to go to all of the places that I wanted to. I still cherish the memories from the places that I used to go, and the experiences were great. I challenge you to enrich your life through traveling. It's okay if you can only afford to go one place a year. Search for deals online, save up for it, Plan carefully and began your journey! Start within the U.S. if you have to (if thats more affordable) then work your way outside of the country. Go experience other cultures, Food ,nature, historical architecture, weather! Get out of your box and Create a travel bucket list! Doesn't matter how quickly you check places off of your list just do the best you can, however you can. It will be totally worth it! You also need to stay hydrated while exercising to maintain proper body temperature so you must have a water bottle. Don't forget your towel because if you're getting a good work out in then you should definitely be sweating, and using a towel regulates your body temperature to stop overheating.<br />
Music is important too because it can motivate and inspire us so a good play list can really make your workout enjoyable! Invest in some good headphones that won't fall off. Last but not least a good protein shake before or after your workout is good too. If you take it before your workout it gives you energy. Womanhood today is definitely not easy. We are expected to do many things as well as continue to be the nurturing, compassionate caregivers that we are supposed to be naturally. Some women are hard on themselves when they feel like they are not living up to this; However we are in a time where women are expected to really do and be so much more. It’s easy to find yourself not being exactly the most nurturing and caring person at times because you’re consumed with your own issues. Sometimes you may ask yourself if it’s even possible. Today Most women are independent and supporting themselves, some are single parents and the head of their households, Some are very successful power players that even have trouble finding a man who can deal with their level of success, Some are trying to juggle being a good mother, a good wife, contributing to the household, attending their kids ball games, staying in shape etc. and even cooking good meals. Some are just trying to find meaningful relationships and love. Some women are dealing with sordid pasts that they just want to forget about while searching for healing. They’re walking around emotionally scarred and torn and just trying to find themselves. Though we all have our own issues and things that we’re dealing with at the end of the day we all want the same thing which is to be happy. We all have our own idea of what happiness is and what we need in our lives to truly be happy, but the real problem arises when all we focus on is what we’re unhappy about. When we choose to focus on everything that’s wrong with our lives, everything that we’re not and everything we don’t have it can lead to a whole host of other issues. Now this holds true for everybody and is not limited to women; however since we tend to be more emotional beings when we are unhappy or depressed the whole household feels it. In a sense we can set or change the mood real quick. We’ve all heard the saying Happy wife, Happy life. Well that is very true so here are some things that you can do to help you overcome stress and depression:<br />
